# Floor Area of a Room Calculator

Use this area calculator to work out the floor area of a room. A = base * height

If your room is rectangular, then simply enter the width and depth of the room and the unit of measure, and the resulting floor area of the room will be calculated in several different units of measure, both metric and imperial, useful if you are meauring the room in one unit but for example the floor tiles you want are measured in a different unit.

If on the other hand your floor area is not a perfect rectangle try breaking the room down into rectangular sections and enter the dimensions for each section into the calculator below, adding each result together to give you the total floor area.
